City are looking to snap up Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Manchester City are preparing a stunning bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic with the French champions looking to bring in Wayne Rooney from Manchester United, reports the Daily Star.
Ibrahimovic has hinted that he would be open to a move to the Premier League for some time, although his colossal £11million-a-year wages could only be matched by City or Chelsea.
At 31 the Swedish forward is coming towards the twilight end of his career and the Citizens would have to make a move now if they wanted the best out of the striker.
City made a move for Ibrahimovic back in 2011 when he was still at Barcelona, but the Swede preferred AC Milan over the north-west of England.
However, with a deal for Rooney to PSG seeming more and more imminent it could be the perfect opportunity for the 2012 English champions to secure their star man.
Since the last time the mega-rich club made a bid for Ibrahimovic they have become a more attractive outfit, having secured their first Premier League trophy and signing top players such as Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri.
The Sweden international has scored 35 goals in 46 games for PSG since signing from Milan for £18.5million last summer, but it’s likely the Ligue 1 holders would want nearer to £30million from City to tempt them into selling.
All three of the striking trio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Eden Dzeko have been linked with moves away from Eastlands, whilst controversial Italian Mario Balotelli was finally shipped out of the club in the last transfer window.
