According to Football Italia, the deal is for a one year loan with a mandatory option to buy after next season.
It has long been reported that the Montenegrin international has been considering a return to Italy after struggling to live up to expectations in Manchester following his move from Fiorentina.
Jovetic played a key in taking the Viola back to the Champions League during his time with the club, but he hasn’t been able to recreate that form at the Etihad due to several injury problems and lack of form.
It is reported that he will agree to a deal worth €3.5m per season, which is considerably less than what he is currently making with the Premier League club.
Interest was high in the former Fiorentina man, with Roma and Juventus linked with making a move this summer. However, it is the Nerazzurri who appear to have won the race, with an announcement expected later this week.
