Third time will be the charm for Manchester City as the club’s latest bid for Liverpool ace Raheem Sterling will reportedly go through.
According to the Daily Star, after failing with two straight bids to land Liverpool’s versatile youngster, Man City’s new £45 million bid is expected to go through for the 20-year-old Sterling. The Reds ace is one of several expensive stars Man City have had on their radar since the UEFA lifted major spending restrictions. The changes have allowed City owner Sheikh Mansour to (figuratively) go ballistic with his cash and put together a £191 million wish list that includes the likes of Paul Pogba, Kevin de Bruyne and Fabian Delph.
Sterling has been one of the exceptional breakout stars for Liverpool, recording 9 goals and 11 assists just last season, and has shown a knack for playing striker, winger and attacking midfielder all equally well. Last year he earned the prestigious Golden Boy honor – an award for Europe’s best U-21 star that has been shared by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Pogba.
