Manchester City are reportedly poised to launched a £40m bid for Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling.
Liverpool value the 20-year-old at around £50m, but The Mirror claim City’s offer – although it falls £10m below the asking price – will be their last for a player who has also been linked with interest from Arsenal and Chelsea recently.

City are expected to be very busy in the transfer market this summer, as they look to strengthen ahead of a title push next season.
The Mirror claim that, after bidding for Sterling, the two-time Premier League champions are set to continue their £58m pursuit of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, as well as bidding for Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne and Marseille’s Giannelli Imbula – rated at £30m and £22m respectively.
Sterling will apparently be offered a contract worth £190,000 per week by City if Liverpool allow the player to speak with representatives from the Etihad Stadium.
