MIDFIELDERS
Fernandinho – Provides valuable energy and discipline in a City midfield which is otherwise lacking. Needs more support in this area and that is something that Pellegrini must look at in the transfer market: Verdict: STAY
Fernando – Made little impression in the 22 Premier League games that he started. The £12m signing from Porto will stay but should feature less regularly once a couple of signings have been made. Verdict: STAY
Frank Lampard – Was only ever going to be a short-term signing, although New York City will argue that he stayed longer that he should have. The 36-year-old Premier League legend is now off to the MLS. Verdict: GONE
James Milner – Another English midfielder and home-grown player who has already departed the Etihad, Milner has agreed to join Liverpool on a Bosman and his versatility and professionalism will be sorely missed. Verdict: GONE
Samir Nasri – The frustrating Frenchman is not consistent or prolific enough to retain the same pivotal role that he did in the title-winning squad of 2013-14, and it is surely time to move him on. Verdict: GO
Jesus Navas – City desperately need to add some pace and excitement to their attack. Navas has the speed, but not the quality of Raheem Sterling or Kevin De Bruyne, and his days of firing crosses at the first man could be over. Verdict: GO
David Silva – In a disappointing season for the Blues, the Spaniard did not let his standards drop and in fact had his best year in front of goal with 12 strikes. The addition of one or two top-class attacking players could make him even better. Verdict: STAY.
Yaya Toure – Many have suggested that City should call time on Toure, but they do not have enough match-winners to allow one of the few to leave. Pellegrini must utilise the Ivorian further forward and bring in midfielders to protect him. Verdict: STAY
