Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are now said to be targeting a move for a THIRD Liverpool star, Philippe Coutinho, according to the Daily Star.
City are set to embark on another gigantic spending spree this summer as it becomes increasingly likely that they will miss out on retaining their title, and even have their top four spot coming under threat by a resurgence in their rivals.
The City board are drawing up a shopping list, they have placed Reds duo Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson at the top of their priorities.
But they will now apparently be joined by teammate Philippe Coutinho after learning he will be available for around £20m should Brendan Rodgers’ men miss out on their own quest for Champions League football.
Liverpool have come under siege from their rivals recently, and the news will give Rodgers much cause for concern, and pile on the pressure for them to finish the season on a high point.
