Van Persie has been widely tipped to join Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce this summer, and The Mirror reports the Dutchman wants a £12m parting gift before exiting Old Trafford.
According to Daily Express, Fenerbahce have offered the 31-year-old a four-year contract that matches his current £250k-a-week deal at Manchester United.
Van Persie has one year remaining on his deal with the Red Devils, and it is believed the player will demand the club pay the final year of his contract out should they sell him to Fenerbahce.
According to the report, Fenerbahce have tabled an offer in region of £5m and United are understood to be keen to offload the striker just to rid themselves of his massive wage bill.
However, United will be now forced into a re-think should Van Persie demand the full £12m from the final year of his deal.
