The 16-year-old, who currently plays for Valenciennes has been targeted by a number of top clubs recently, and has apparently had offers from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, too.
But United look to have beaten off the competition for his signature by agreeing a £450,000 and are now set to announce his arrival in a matter of days.
He had been tipped to make a move away from his current club back in January, but had decided against an early exit by opting to see out the remainder of the season in France.
A tall, powerful and commanding presence at the heart of the defence, he is being tipped to enjoy a big future in the game and his signing appears to represent a huge coup for the Red Devils.
