Man United could well have been alerted by the reports on Monday that suggest PSG have told Zlatan Ibrahimovic that he can leave the club.
The report, via the Daily Mail, conflicts with the general message coming out of the French champions’ camp in recent weeks which has suggested that they want the Swedish ace to stay.

Ibrahimovic has been a fundamental part of their success over the last three years, and it would seem strange to allow him to leave now even though he has just one year remaining on his current deal.
United have previously been linked with a move for the 33-year-old, particularly after boss Louis Van Gaal suggested that they would sign a striker who hadn’t necessarily been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Whether or not Ibrahimovic is on his radar remains to be seen, but it is no secret that former club Milan want to sign the veteran.
Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has previously insisted that he would welcome the arrival of the former San Siro hero, while Ibrahimovic himself hasn’t been shy in expressing his love for the city.
As a result, if Van Gaal is interested in signing him, then the Dutch tactician would be well advised to move quickly particularly if his pursuit of Barcelona winger Pedro looks unlikely to result in his arrival.
