Manchester United and Arsenal have received a blow in the chase for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze.
Gotze was been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window after the German voiced concerns over his lack of first-team action last season.
However, it appears Gotze has patched up his relationship with manager Pep Guardiola, with the former Barcelona boss confessing his “love” for the World Cup winner.
“I love Mario Gotze,” Guardiola is quoted as saying by Daily Express.
“I have said it a million times and I will say it a million times again.
“He is a super guy and a super character with a great attitude. Everything was easier after Mario’s goal. He is a top player and has enormous quality.”
Reports over the summer suggested Bayern were prepared to allow the 23-year-old to leave the club for £50m, but the Bavarian giants seemingly convinced the midfielder to remain at the Allianz Arena.
According to Daily Express, United and Arsenal are expected are expected to renew its interest in Gotze in January.
