Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has been considered expendable ever since Sergio Romero was acquired on a free transfer deal.
According to The Metro, Valdes is on his way out of Old Trafford as he will be signing with Besiktas. A United board member has flown to England to complete the deal for the 33-year-old.
The Spanish international will be headed to the Turkish on a free transfer deal after spending one season at Old Trafford.
Due to David de Gea’s stranglehold on the starting job, Valdes only made two appearances for Man United in the 2014-15 season.
Despite the rampant Real Madrid transfer rumours surrounding De Gea, Valdes was unable to beat out Romero for the starting role.
Valdes even received public criticism from Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal for refusing to play with the Man United reserves.
The veteran goalie will be the second Man United player to leave for Turkey after striker Robin van Persie left for Fenerbahce.
