Louis van Gaal and Thomas Muller won a Bundesliga title together with Bayern Munich in 2009.
Man United manager Louis van Gaal is in serious need of a striker to work alongside Wayne Rooney. Luckily, the ex-Bayern Munich boss still has the number of one his former superstars.
According to the Metro, Man United have submitted an offer to Bayern Munich for Thomas Muller and are willing to pay the German stud £7.1 million-a-year to play at Old Trafford.
Though the Bundesliga champions have maintained that Muller is not for sale, it hasn’t stopped Man United from making major overtures to the club in the range of record-setting offers for the 25-year-old superstar.
Man United have been rumored to be connected to a Premier League-record £69.6 million bid for Muller, but that bid was later reported to be false.
Muller is coming off yet another strong year with his 3rd straight season with 13 league goals and 20+ total goals. He has also been sensational for the German national team, recording six goals in Germany’s run to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final.
