The Red Devils will once again sit disgruntled star goalkeeper David de Gea.
Despite Louis van Gaal’s alleged determination to keep David de Gea at Old Trafford, he certainly isn’t doing much to make the bitter stopper happy.
In a press conference earlier today transcribed by The Telegraph, the Man United boss revealed that David de Gea will not be a member of the active Man United squad when they travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Friday.
“It is the same situation. He remains out of the squad,” Van Gaal told reporters.
Last weekend LVG gave the start to Sergio Romero – a summer pickup and the starting goalkeeper for the Argentinian national team.
David de Gea, who has openly expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford in the recent past, has been heavily linked with a transfer to La Liga giant Real Madrid with members of his inner-circle already suggesting that a deal is nearly done if not done already.
“Normally yes, Sergio Romero stays in goal,” Van Gaal added.
Romero had a successful debut in the Premier League, recording a clean sheet against high-scoring Tottenham Hotspur as the Red Devils hung on for a 1-0 win to start the season.
