Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that Arda Turan could be available on loan for the first half of the season.
The Turkish international midfielder joined the La Liga champions from Atletico Madrid earlier this month but cannot register with them until January because of Barca’s transfer ban.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that Turan would not be allowed to play in friendlies either and therefore Bartomeu would be willing to sanction a temporary move away.
But the condition that the lucky club cannot be in the Champions League could harm the chances of Manchester United and Chelsea, who were linked to Turan before he chose the Camp Nou.
“This is a possibility,” Bartomeu told radio station El Mon earlier on Thursday. “But the final decision must be made by the Coach and it must be a purely technical decision.
“It must be a team not playing in the Champions League.”
Fellow new signing Aleix Vidal would not be available on loan as he has already decided to remain with Barcelona and train with the first team.
