Turan last week admitted he was looking to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer and has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.
United and Chelsea will have plenty of work to do to sign the Turkish international, with La Liga giants Barcelona seemingly stepping up its chase for the former Galatasaray man.
Barcelona are currently under a transfer embargo and cannot sign players until 2016, however Bartomeu says the 28-year-old would be an ideal signing for the Catalan giants.
“I invite the interim committee to sign the player,” Bartomeu told TV station Esport 3 [via Daily Express].
“He’s a good player, with great quality and perfectly matches what Luis Enrique is wanting this coming season, which is why I, as a pre-candidate, urge the interim committee to take the necessary steps to sign the player.
“When all parties are in agreement, and above all the manager, that the player is the one we need, the thing to do is to bring him in under the best conditions possible.”
Turan was expected to announce his decision last Friday, but it now seems he will remain an Atletico player for a few more days at least.
The £29.2m-rated attacking midfielder has starred for Atletico since joining the club in 2011 and played a key role in the successful 2013/14 season that saw his side win the La Liga title and reach the Champions League final.
