Manchester United agreed to sell goalkeeper David de Gea to Real Madrid, which was the Spanish international’s destination of choice.
Real Madrid agreed to fork out £29m and Costa Rican gloveman Keylor Navas in return for the 24-year-old.
However, the two teams have had their deal blocked due to Man United allegedly failing to send their paperwork in on time.
Man United insist that they sent the documents before the deadline, however.
The paperwork is reported to have been submitted one minute after the transfer deadline passed, which would render Real Madrid unable to sign its main target.
De Gea has not played for the Red Devils in the 2015-16 season with United boss Louis van Gaal believing the shot-stopper was not in the right mindset to take his place between the sticks.
Bryan Swanson of Sky Sports confirmed that there is still a chance the deal may go through.
Spanish reporter Guillem Balague revealed that FIFA will review the situation and decide de Gea’s fate in the morning.

Real Madrid and/or #mufc may consider an appeal over the cause of the David De Gea delay (i.e. computer glitch). #SSNHQ

La Liga says the documents did not arrive on time. Fifa will look at the case tomorrow. Both RM and United pushing for it to happen
