Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will inevitably be returning to the Premier League it seems.
He has continually been linked to Manchester City, but Manchester United are keen on reaching a deal for the Bundesliga star and have been cleared to do so, according to The Metro.
Wolfsburg are expected to receive a £40m offer from City after De Bruyne produced an impressive 2014-15 season, scoring 16 goals and contributing 27 assists in all competitions.
However, United may be willing to match that figure.
They have already made the double signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, although De Bruyne would offer a completely different midfield option.
However, his suitors may want to proceed with caution as his previous Premier League stint did not end well.
The 24-year-old made just three appearances for Chelsea before being flogged to Wolfsburg.
