Manchester United have been given the all clear to sign Barcelona winger Pedro but will have to wait mid-August to bring the striker to Old Trafford, according to reports.
Pedro has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, and Spanish newspaper Marca says a transfer fee has “more or less” been agreed between the two clubs.
However, it is believed Barcelona do not want to sell the 27-year-old until after the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla on August 11, causing United boss Louis van Gaal major headaches as the Spaniard will arrive following the start of the Premier League.
The Red Devils will also play in Champions League qualifiers in late August, and Van Gaal will want the winger to join the club as early as possible in order to gel with his new teammates.
Pedro is understood to be frustrated after struggling for first-team action at the Camp Nou last season.
The Spaniard is also believed to be a target of Chelsea, but United are believed to be in pole position for his signature.
