Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, and Metro reports the path has been cleared for the France international to join the Red Devils after the Saints identified the midfielder’s replacement.
According to reports in France, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has made a bid for Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye in what comes as a major transfer boost for Louis van Gaal’s side.
Marseille have entered the race to sign Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye, who has an offer from Southampton, according to France Football.

Southampton could face stiff competition for Gueye’s signature, with Arsenal and Marseille also rumoured to be interested in the 25-year-old.
Schneiderlin has publicly voiced his desire for Champions League football next season, and it seems he may be granted his wish with a move to United.
