Manchester United are still due to make another splash signing this summer, and they continue to go hard after Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
According to Squawka, they may be finally be in luck as they have been cleared to sign the Spanish star.
It is also being implied that the club no longer want Ramos around, despite him being appointed team captain.
While no official deal is being reached yet, Man United have apparently offered Real €60m for the 29-year-old superstar.
Marca reporter Pablo Garcia Cuervo revealed Real’s new stance on their captain, according to Goal.
He claims that Real are slowly distancing themselves from Ramos, just like they did with goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who has since transferred to Porto.
“If Florentino Perez wanted to keep Casillas, he hid it very well. The same is happening with Ramos,” Cuervo said.
After it seemed like the door would be shut on a deal for Ramos, Man United now have plenty of hope to finish rebuilding their defence.
The 29-year-old Spanish international is known as one of the best defenders in the world, as he has been a consistent force for Real in the last 10 seasons.
He has also contributed plenty of scoring ability, as he has notched 55 goals throughout his Real career.
