Manchester United are still looking to secure a long-term goalkeeper solution, with the departure of David de Gea a very real possibility.
Their chances of finding an adequate replacement have been boosted, as The Metro reports that United have been cleared to sign Galatarasay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.
It will not be easy for Man United to land the Uruguayan international though, and they have already had a bid of £25m rejected.
Galatarasay manager Hamza Hamzaoglu also confirmed that it would take a lot for the team to sell Muslera.
“We will only consider selling one of our players if a good offer comes in and if we can find a replacement,” Hamzaoglu said.
Muslera offers plenty to offer. He won the Super Lig player of the season award.
The Red Devils have already brought in Sergio Romero on a free transfer, and he shined in his Old Trafford debut with a clean sheet against Tottenham Hotspur.
Sam Johnstone is also in the Red Devils’ squad, while Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen remains a transfer target.
