Begovic has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, however, The Mirror reports United manager Louis van Gaal could make a move for the Bosnia & Herzegovina international due to the uncertainty over David de Gea’s future.
It is believed Chelsea have been in negotiations with Stoke City over a transfer fee, but Begovic could be tempted into a move to Old Trafford especially considering he is unlikely to be first-choice at Chelsea.
Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is now firmly cemented as the Blues’ number one gloveman, and Begovic would no doubt play a backup role to the former Atletico Madrid man.
Stoke are understood to be keen to hold onto Begovic, however the 28-year-old is now entering the final year of his contract and the Potters are likely to attempt to cash-in.
