Manchester United have been banking on signing Barcelona winger Pedro, but they may ultimately be unable to sign him.
According to the Daily Star, Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez expects the Spanish international to stay at the Nou Camp.
“Pedro has a £22.3m buyout clause. He is a player that has done fantastically well for us and both the coach and I want him to stay,” Fernandez said.
Man United have targeted Pedro as a replacement for Angel di Maria, who has officially been sold to Paris Saint-Germain for £45m.
The Red Devils are prepared to pay for Pedro’s £22.3m buy-out clause, which is all Barcelona would accept if they were to sell their 27-year-old star.
It appears that the defending Champions League champions have big plans for Pedro if he stays, despite his reduced playing time last season.
