Manchester United have been scrambling for another option since losing out on Pedro, who decided to join Premier League champions Chelsea.
The Red Devils have been keen on signing Southampton winger Sadio Mané, but the Daily Mail reports the transfer has been put in jeopardy after the Senegalese international suffered an injury against Watford.
The Southampton winger was involved in a collision with Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes in the first half, and was forced from the field as a result of the clash.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman remains confident that the injury is not too serious, so Man United may still be able to put Mané back in their final transfer plans.
“He had a kick on his hip. It looks not so bad, but we’ll have to wait. He was not good enough to continue. I hope that we will have everybody available for Thursday, Sadio as well,” Koeman said.
The transfer window is set to close on August 31, so the Red Devils will have to pray for a speedy recovery to be able to make a quick decision.
