Nainggolan has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but Metro reports that Roma have made the Belgian’s stay at the club permanent after he was co-owned by the now relegated Cagliari.
The 27-year-old has impressed for the Serie A giants since joining from Cagliari in 2014 and is believed to have caught the eye of United boss Louis van Gaal.
Nainggolan scored five goals in 33 Serie A appearances this season as Roma finished distant runners-up in the Italian top-flight, but his superb in the heart of Rudi Garcia’s midfielder earned him plenty of plaudits in Italy.
United are in the market for a midfield enforcer, and Van Gaal is now expected to go all out for Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin following Nainggolan’s new deal.
