Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has already been linked to Premier League giants Arsenal.
However, Everton are now on the verge of completing an £8m deal for the centre-back, according to The Guardian.
Evans struggled in his stint with the Red Devils, so a departure from Old Trafford seems inevitable for the 27-year-old.
The defender’s playing time continued to be diminished in the 2014-15 season, as he only made 14 appearances in Premier League play.
Man United have already experienced major losses such as striker Robin van Persie and midfielder Nani, who both departed for Turkish club Fenerbahce.
However, they have also made key upgrades to their squad such as midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Red Devils have also begun their efforts to rebuild their defence with the addition of former Torino defender Matteo Darmian.
However, Man United are still targeting defenders Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos.
Either of them would undoubtedly be an improvement on Evans.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal will undoubtedly take advantage of Man United’s large spending budget as the team hopes to replace Evans.
