The Metro say the Red Devils are desperate to bring the Welshman back to England and the Premier League and have even opened negotiations with Los Blancos.
However, before any United fans get too excited, the report says this bid was quickly rebuffed by the La Liga giants – though perhaps they shouldn’t be too downhearted with claims this has at last got the ball rolling between the two clubs in terms of negotiating a transfer and more talks are planned.
United are looking to capitalise on the bad feeling around the Santiago Bernabeu for Bale who has struggled for form throughout the campaign and received heavy criticism from the Real Madrid support.
Welsh legend John Toshack reckons Bale can still achieve things in the Spanish capital but only if his agent shuts up first.
Toshack thinks the former Tottenham Hotspur man has time to turn around the negative public opinion of him and said of the situation to Spanish news source El Partido de las 12, according to Mirror Online:
“He’s a top quality player and maybe he’s suffering in the shadow of other players.
“But if his representative – that dickhead – shuts up for a moment, and Bale gets his head right, then he can still achieve big things.
“You don’t have to listen to a word the reps say. They shouldn’t talk about football, they haven’t got a clue about it. Not a clue.”
