Louis van Gaal is making a determined effort to land all three of Real Madrid’s big scoring threats. He’s gotta succeed with at least one, right?
Arsenal may be in the driver’s seat in the transfer war for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but Man United intend to have the final say – and secure the signature.
According to the Metro, Man United are now planning to upend Arsenal’s bid for Benzema even though they’re already reportedly close to a £22 million deal for Barcelona superstar Pedro. The Red Devils are reportedly “stepping up their efforts” to pave the way for Benzema to join them at Old Trafford.

A €35 million signing out of Lyon in 2009, Karim Benzema has arguably been Real Madrid’s most consistent striker not-named-Ronaldo over the last six seasons. Benzema has recorded double-digit league goals and 20+ total goals in each of the last five years and in seven of the last eight.
As a member of Lyon, Benzema won four straight Ligue 1 titles from 2005 to 2008.
