Manchester United are eyeing a move for Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor, according to reports.
It is understood Taylor has been on the Red Devils’ radar, and Daily Star reports Louis van Gaal will look to sign the youngster in the January transfer window following Luke Shaw’s horror injury.
Shaw suffered a double leg fracture during United 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
According to the report, Van Gaal has sent scouts to watch Taylor’s impressive performances in the Championship and the Dutchman could be ready to make a move.
It is believed United are preparing to launch a £4m bid for Taylor when the transfer window re-opens in the winter, but it remains to be seen if Leeds will play hardball with its traditional rivals.
The injury suffered by Shaw will likely see him miss EURO 2016, leaving Roy Hodgson with a hammer blow in the lead up to the tournament.
