Man United’s No. 2 stopper Victor Valdes isn’t pleased to be second fiddle to David de Gea again. Will he force his way out of Old Trafford?
In a bizarre twist to the Man Unted/David de Gea transfer saga, Man United’s backup goalkeeper Victor Valdes now says he wants out of Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Star, in the aftermath of the recent news that Man United have not received a bid from Real Madrid and that the Red Devils have no interest in selling their star stopper, Victor Valdes reportedly wants out.
Man United acquired Victor Valdes last year on an 18-month contract to serve as the backup to De Gea and played for the Red Devils in two games, getting a clean sheet in his lone start and a substitution for De Gea in a separate appearance.
During his 12-year career with Barcelona, Valdes was a two-time La Liga Goalkeeper of the Year in 2010 and 2011, leading the club to six La Liga titles and three Champions League titles.
