Man United are reportedly in talks with Argentina shot-stopper Sergio Romero.
With David de Gea’s future still up in the air, Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano says United have moved quickly to begin talks with the 28-year-old goalkeeper.
Romero is currently a free agent after Serie A side Sampdoria cut him loose decrease its wage bill, but United won’t have it all their own way with AS Roma also reportedly interested in the player.

Romero has previously worked with United boss Louis van Gaal at Dutch side AZ Alkmaar and was superb for Argentina during last year’s World Cup.
Despite his excellent performances with his national team, Romero has spent a majority of the past two seasons as second-choice shot-stopper at Sampdoria and it is unlikely he would join the Red Devils should De Gea remain at the club.
