Man United’s hopes of landing Pedro are contingent upon finalizing a deal to rid themselves of Angel Di Maria. Can they land the Barcelona star before Premier League starts?
Man United have hit a significant snag in their efforts to land Barcelona superstar Pedro: the uncompleted sale of Angel Di Maria.
According to the Daily Mail, Man United are unable to make a bid for Pedro until they resolve the issue with the impending sale of Angel Di Maria to Ligue 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain – a sale that has reportedly hit some snags recently.
With a £22 million buyout clause in Pedro’s contract, Man United could certainly use the extra scratch in order to secure the Barcelona star and still be able to afford to complete their summer shopping list.
Di Maria earned considerably notoriety as a massive flop in just one season with Man United after the club spent a Premier League-record £59.7 million on the Argentinian attacker. But that one season was marred with inconsistency and failure to gel with Louis van Gaal, so following a distant fourth place finish on the Premier League table, the Old Trafford bought offered him up wholesale.
