Edinson Cavani is one of several elite strikers Louis van Gaal allegedly wants to bring to Old Trafford. What kind of bid will the Red Devils make, if any?
Man United are supposedly trying eagerly to convince Paris Saint-Germain to put star striker Edinson Cavani up for sale, and their efforts may have just paid off.
According to the Metro, although Paris Saint-Germain have not publicly declared Man United’s interest in the star striker, his agent Walter Guglielmone says a “big club” from Europe have made an offer.
“This summer, Edi has received interest from big clubs who are looking for a centre forward,” Guglielmone said.
Though the Metro reported that Cavani himself is not necessarily interested in a move, they noted that Guglielmone stated that Cavani wants to be the team’s main forward and get the job currently held by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“(Cavani can) only be happy at PSG if Zlatan Ibrahimovic lets him become the main forward,” Guglielmone said.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan striker has an estimated price tag of £45 million after two straight seasons for PSG with 25 goals or more. Cavani led PSG in total goals scored last season and finished second behind Zlatan with 18 league goals as the club won the Ligue 1 title.
