The Spanish international had been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu for some time, with United struggling to convince the player to commit his future to the club amid all the speculation.
However, The Sun now claims that de Gea, 24, will put pen to paper on a new deal that will extend his stay at Old Trafford for a further two years, whilst earning him a huge pay rise.
De Gea will accept wages of around £200,000 per week, but is seemingly still holding out for a move to Real in the future with the surprisingly short nature of this new contract.
It is claimed that the player wants to leave the club on a free in 2017.
