Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is drawing even closer to a move to Real Madrid, as he is in the final year of his Man United contract.
According to The Metro, De Gea is considering handing in a transfer request in an attempt to push for a move to the Bernabeu
However, Man United are determined to hold onto the Spanish international, and they have refused to accept any offer from Real Madrid that is below their asking price of £24m.
De Gea was left out of United’s squad for it opening two Premier League fixtures, with Argentine international Sergio Romero standing in for the 24-year-old.
Romero has performed admirably in his two starts for the Red Devils, handing United leverage in negotiations with Real Madrid.
It’s two weeks until the close of the transfer window, and it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are willing to break the bank for their main target.
