Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea looks set to remain looks set to remain at Old Trafford this season, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid, however Daily Star reports the Spanish club are unwilling to match United’s £35m valuation of the former Atletico Madrid man.
De Gea has just 12 months remaining on his current deal with the Red Devils, meaning he will likely leave the club on a free transfer next summer.
It remains to be seen however if Real Madrid come in with a late offer following the departure of veteran keeper Iker Casillas.
The long-time Real Madrid number one departed the club this week and will join Portuguese giants FC Porto, leaving little-used Keylor Navas as the club’s current goalkeeper.
De Gea has refused to sign a new contract with Manchester United and is understood to be holding out for a move back to Spain.
