Man United shot-stopper Victor Valdes wants to stay in the Premier League despite reports linking the player with a move to Turkey.
The former Barcelona man has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Antalyaspor, but it appears the Spaniard will remain in the Premier League for another season at least.
Valdes’ agent, Gines Carvajal, told Spanish newspaper AS that he had been contacted by Antalyaspor officials but said he expected his client to stay at Old Trafford.
“Some people from Turkey, have contacted me to negotiate the signing of Victor But I’ve never spoken with the president of the Turkish club. I do not know. Therefore I will not comment on his explanations of Victor. We do not think to talk to them because my player wants to join Antalyaspor,” Carvajal said.
“His thoughts are to continue playing for Manchester United. He has one year left on his contract with the club. We see no good reason to leave the club. United are one of the three or four best in the world.
“Victor is excited about have a place in the team for next season and is ready to give the best to help his team.”
With it looking likely current United number one David de Gea will join Real Madrid, it is believed Valdes is keen to fight for a starting XI spot next season.
Valdes made just two appearances for the Red Devils last season after joining the club in January.
