Manchester United are reportedly growing increasingly optimistic of signing Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid.
The World Cup-winning defender has apparently outlined to Madrid his desire to leave for Old Trafford this summer.
And the Red Devils are believed to have opened the bidding for the 29-year-old with a £28.6m offer on Monday.

It remains to be seen whether that sum will be enough to prise Ramos away from the Bernabeu, but Sky Sports reports that United expect to get their man at some point this summer.
Ramos has won three La Liga titles and the Champions League during his decade at Real, but has allegedly fallen out with president Florentino Perez and demanded a move away.
United are desperately seeking experience and leadership in defence, and Ramos fits the bill.
