Man United have hit back at Real Madrid after the debacle of David De Gea’s failed transfer to the Bernabeu ahead of the transfer deadline.
Florentino Perez released a heated statement this week branding United’s conduct in the matter a “disgrace”, and claimed that they were amateurish in their negotiations.

However, after the £29.5m deal to take De Gea to Madrid with Keylor Navas moving in the opposite direction broke down, United have now released their own statement to let their European rivals know exactly what they thought of the situation.
“The facts speak for themselves and the FA are prepared to back our case that the documents were in on time.
“Real seem intent to move the focus away from their own clumsiness this summer. We all like to blame others but if you let one slip through your fingers into the back of the net, then ultimately the culpability is yours.”
United have repeatedly insisted that they submitted all their paperwork on time, and that it is Real’s fault that the deal didn’t go through.
De Gea has not been selected in any of United’s first six games of the season, although that could change as Louis Van Gaal has previously suggested that he would bring him back into the fold if his future was cleared up.
The 24-year-old will now likely remain at Old Trafford until the end of the season, but his current contract expires next summer.
