With it looking likely David de Gea will head to La Liga giants Real Madrid, Turkish newspaper Vatan report the Red Devils have submitted a £25m offer for the Uruguayan.
United have been linked with moves for Tottenham gloveman Hugo Lloris and Stoke star Asmir Begovic as replacements for De Gea, but it now seems Louis van Gaal is keen to bring Muslera to Old Trafford.
Galatasaray are not keen to part with the 29-year-old, with club president Dursun Ozbek saying the Turkish giants would not sell the player under any circumstances.
“Muslera is loved by all Galatasaray fans,” Ozbek told Harriyet [via Daily Star]
“We will not sell him to any club. Galatasaray is one of the world’s biggest clubs.”
Muslera is considered to be one of Europe’s top goalkeepers, however, United may have to dig even deeper into its coffers to convince Galatasaray to allow him to depart Istanbul.
The former Lazio shot-stopper has considerable Champions League experience and would rival Victor Valdes for the number one spot at Old Trafford.
