Manchester United have launched a new bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after their previous bid was rejected last week.
According to the Metro, the Red Devils have improved their offer from £20 million to £25 million to Southampton in exchange for the 25-year-old French midfielder, who is coming off a four-goal season with the club. With Southampton reportedly seeking £30 million for the defensive-midfield domineer, Man United boss Louis van Gaal seems to think he can get his man for little bit less.
One of the Premier League’s most talented defensive midfielders, Schneiderlin has scored 11 goals for Southampton since the club was promoted to the Premier League in 2012. In his four previous seasons with the club, Schneiderlin had recorded just three – he easily matched and exceeded that total in his first year in the Premier League. The French midfielder was named the Southampton F.C. Fans’ Player of the Season after his terrific 2012-13 campaign.
The Metro reported that Arsenal were also interested in Schneiderlin, but the £30 million asking price was just too high.
