The French champions have had their FFP restrictions lifted this summer after initially falling foul of the regulations put in place by UEFA.
In turn that allows them to spend more and increase the size of their Champions League squad, and it appears as though they are thinking big ahead of delving back into the transfer market.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they have begun to target Ronaldo, with Madrid president Florentino Perez recently in Doha with Nasser Al Khelaifi, and the Portuguese superstar’s name cropped up.
It is noted that it would be a very complex operation in order to complete the signing, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic may well move on in order to make room in the squad and for the the additional salary cost that will come with it.
The Swedish international has been linked with a return to Italy this summer, while his contract is also set to expire in 2016.
