Former Man United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has urged current stopper David De Gea to commit his future to the club and help them win trophies again.
The Spanish ace has been left out of the United squad so far this season amid speculation that he wants to join Real Madrid.

With the transfer deadline edging closer, it appears as though he is no closer to a switch to the Bernabeu, which in turn could see him return to the fold for Louis Van Gaal next month.
However, Schmeichel has urged him to stay at Old Trafford long term and sign a new deal with the club to continue being a crucial part of their revival in the coming years.
“I hope that we’ll see him. I hope that some kind of resolution is found within the next couple of days,” he told Sky Sports.
“I would love David de Gea to commit to Manchester United, you know, and sign a new five-year contract. He has been absolutely outstanding in the last two seasons.”
Schmeichel added that he understood why the Spanish international would want a return to Madrid, and insisted that he would wish him well if he decided to move back.
However, the Dane is angry with how the situation has dragged on into the season and believes that United and De Gea should have had the situation sorted a long time ago.
