Gary Neville has warned former club Manchester United that they would be foolish to sell Angel Di Maria without signing a replacement.
Di Maria is expected to complete a £46.5m move to Paris Saint-Germain this week after enduring an indifferent debut season in England.
The Argentine managed only four goals in 32 appearances for United after his club-record £59.7m arrival from Real Madrid, and the Red Devils seem ready to cut their losses.
The 27-year-old has not travelled to the United States to join the Premier League giants on their pre-season tour, and PSG boss Laurent Blanc has admitted that a deal is “very close” to happening.
Neville, who made over 600 appearances and won eight titles in his 19 years at Old Trafford, is happy with United’s summer business, but has stressed that a world-class player is needed to replace Di Maria.
United have done good business this summer on signings and value. Have to be careful letting ADM go without an equal coming in first though

Louis van Gaal has brought in Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero, who become United’s fifth summer recruit this morning.
But the Dutchman has admitted that he would like a ‘superstar’ signing to add to his squad.
