One of the best defenders in Europe last season after joining AS Roma from Udinese, Mehdi Benatia has been linked strongly as a top target for United recently, though it is thought that they may be keen to avoid paying his somewhat steep £30m asking price. Still, the Moroccan international may be well worth paying the big money for, and his fine form has also seen him attract rumoured interest from Real Madrid this summer.
