Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the chase for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, according to reports.
Liverpool have been linked with a shock move for the German international in recent days, however, Metro [via Daily Express] reports United are now interested in luring the midfielder to Old Trafford.
Kroos rejected the Red Devils to join Real Madrid in 2014, but recent reports suggest the 25-year-old is keen to leave the La Liga heavyweights just one year into his stint with the club.
The holding midfielder would be a massive addition to the United midfield, however, the Premier League giants will have to dig deep into its coffers to sign Kroos, with the report claiming a £35m fee would be required.
Despite the reports, it’s difficult to see Real Madrid allowing one of its key players to leave just a year after joining the club.
Kroos is a regular starter for the Los Blancos and it’s doubtful that will change under new boss Rafael Benitez.
