Los Blancos have been heavily linked with a move for the 24-year-old for successive transfer windows, and speculation has reached fever pitch as de Gea refuses to sign a new deal – with his current contract expiring next season.
And now, Mirror Online site a report on Spanish TV channel La Sexta, where Pedrerol claims de Gea has agreed to move to the Bernabeu next season.
Even the presence of Real legend Iker Casillas, still holding down a starting role between the sticks, is not enough to put de Gea off a move, and it’s no longer ‘an impediment’ to a potential deal.
Pedrerol goes on to say that only a disagreement is lacking between Manchester United and Real, but if the player truly has his eyes set on exiting the club then it’s surely only a matter of time.
“David de Gea has said yes to Madrid,” claimed the report by Pedrerol, as quoted by Mirror Online.
“The Manchester United goalkeeper wants to wear the white of Real Madrid from next season. The club considered many options for the goalkeeping situation but have decided on de Gea.
“And David de Gea is clear… he wants to be the Real Madrid goalkeeper.
“One of the problems had been the future (or not) of Iker Casillas but this is no longer an impediment to the signing of de Gea.
“Only an agreement between the clubs is lacking.”
Interestingly, the La Sexta reports also claims that de Gea’s relationship with Louis van Gaal is a key reason the Spaniard is looking for a move back to his home country, but fails to elaborate on why that would be.
