Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly concerned Ilkay Gundogan’s decision to quit Borussia Dortmund could hamper the club’s chances of snaring defender Mats Hummels.

Gundogan is set to leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season after announcing he would not sign a contract extension.
According to Daily Post, Gundogan’s decision to exit the club could have major ramifications on United’s quest to sign Hummels.
Hummels has been a long-standing transfer target for United, but Dortmund’s policy of allowing just one star player to leave each summer could mean the Red Devils may miss out on the world-class defender yet again.
Gundogan has been linked with German rivals Bayern Munich and it is believed his imminent transfer could put and end to Hummels’ rumoured move to Old Trafford.
However, the Daily Post report states that the arrival of new manager Thomas Tuchel could see Dortmund relax its policy to allow the current Mainz boss more freedom to put together his own squad.
Hummels is contracted to Dortmund until the end of the 2017 season, but the centre-back has hinted at a move away from the club.
