Striker Anthony Martial‘s high profile move from Monaco to Manchester United made plenty of headlines.
Although the deal is reported to be worth £36m, the total fee is expected to increase to £59m(€80m) but the 19-year-old refuses to buy into the hype.
“I do not know if I’m worth €80million. Sure it’s crazy enough for a player of my age, but the amount is between the two clubs. I do not put myself in particular pressure,” Martial said, according to FourFourTwo.
“I just want to show what I can do on the field and it’ll be a big change to Monaco. In England, they live for football and it will be up to me to adapt.”
Man United have been keen to strengthen its front third, and they may have found their striker of the future.
Martial experienced a breakout 2014-15 season by scoring nine goals in 35 appearances for Monaco.
Red Devils striker Wayne Rooney has struggled to find his form throughout the beginning of the 2015-16 season.
Rooney may prove to be a valuable mentor for the 19-year-old striker though, as he is without doubt one of the world’s best striker when in form.
Man United have struggled to find the back of the net in the Premier League, thanks largely to Rooney’s slow start
