Manchester United made a dual signing as they brought in star midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin from Bayern Munich and Southampton.
They will be losing two midfielders for the time being though, according to Squawka.
Ben Pearson and Joe Rothwell will be heading to Barnsley for the first half of the 2015-16 season on loan deals.
Both midfielders are 20 years old, and they are seen as future prospects for the Red Devils.
However, they are being shipped off to the League One club to gain more first-team experience.
Pearson previously played for Barnsley on loan in the 2014-15 season, and he made 21 League One appearances, scoring a goal.
He expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season.
“I had a great time here last season – making my professional debut – and want to pick up where I left off but help take us that one step further,” Pearson said.
Rothwell played on a loan deal for Blackpool and made three appearances for them. He expressed similar sentiments to Pearson on his future.
“I’m really excited to be here. I’ve heard a lot about the place from Ben Pearson. He couldn’t speak highly enough of his time here and I just can’t wait to get going,” Rothwell said.
Man United will be entering a season where it will be crucial for them to improve their midfield play.
Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger will look to justify their respective £24m and £14.4m signing fees.
